Lydia A. Saxton, B.M., M.A., M.F.A.
Lydia A. Saxton trained at the Julliard School and at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied vocal performance and choral conducting, receiving a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. She continued her studies at Wesleyan University, receiving a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology and at the City University of New York at Brooklyn College, where she received a Master of Fine Arts in Performing Arts Management.
Ms. Saxton began her professional career in New York, performing both on and off Broadway, in numerous regional theatre productions, and as choir director for several adult and children’s choirs. She later moved to Los Angeles where she earned a California Teaching Credential. For the past thirty years, she has served as an educator and instructional advisor for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Ms. Saxton has performed with and has served as Music Director for numerous local musical theatre groups including DEE Studios, the Canyon Theatre Guild, and the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre. She is a member of the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association), the CCDA (California Choral Directors Association), the MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California), and the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing)
She lives in Santa Clarita with her husband, Kim, their daughter, Sarah, and their two dogs, Pumpkin and Charlie.
Katina Childs-Müller, B.F.A.
Katina Childs-Müller, a.k.a. Miss Kat, has been teaching dance for twenty seven years. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance and theater from Western Michigan University. She has been in numerous musicals and performed on many cruise ships and as well as performed with Tim Conway, Stephanie J. Block, Tom Jones, Kenny Rogers, and Jay Leno.
Miss Kat has choreographed for ten theme parks throughout the US and Europe, show choirs, dinner theaters, cruise ships, and many musicals. She had the honor of choreographing for the TV show Angel, collaborating with Joss Whedon on an episode that was based on the ballet, Giselle.
Miss Kat is the creator and producer of The KidamaJIGs, a pilot TV show that features kids who sing and dance. She is also co-creator of “The Müller Family Circus” what she calls her crazy family of four showbiz kids, hubby, and dog Baxter.
Richard An is a pianist and composer, born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from the California Institute of the Arts Herb Alpert School of Music with an MFA in Performance and Composition and from the University of Southern California with a BM in Composition.
He has appeared as a composer, conductor, and accompanist at venues throughout southern California including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Zipper Hall at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, and Art Share, L.A. and has performed with such notables as Barry Manilow and the Rolling Stones.
Mr. An is excited to serve as a Collaborative Accompanist with the Innovation Show Choir.
